This project shows how Ukrainian culture has been damaged by years of russian colonisation and repression. It aims to reveal the truth and depth of Ukrainian traditions, while also showing the strength and fight to protect identity. By reimagining cultural heritage, the collection stands against destruction and propaganda. It also highlights how russian culture has often been used to manipulate and erase others.

Fabrics for the collection are chosen hemp and linen because they are traditionally grown on Ukrainian land.
They are organic and natural.

Some of the garments include "damaged" elements - symbols of stolen and fractured identity. Incorporated fabrics handmade in Ukraine in 1930s as a way to reconnect with repair identity through cultural heritage.

Line up with 3 outfits and 8 garments made in total

The photography shot on black and white film and inspired by ethnographic portraits, emphasises the connection with the past. The people wearing the garments are Ukrainians who became refugees after the full scale invasion in 2022. They represent living heritage - embodying memory, resilence and the ongoing fight for cultural survival.
